Configuring the Overview and Detail Channels
Use the panoramic channel for the overall scene and the PTZ channel for closer inspection. Set a useful home position and presets before enabling tracking. Test target handover across the scene, including subjects near boundaries and objects partly hidden from view.
Reserve two NVR channels and check the recorder can decode both streams at your selected settings. Recording duration depends on the combined bitrate of both views. Advanced event handling and tracking controls depend on supported recorder firmware and configuration.

Using a PTZ Camera Effectively
Set presets for key entrances, gates and loading areas so an operator can return to useful views quickly. A zoomed-in PTZ sees a smaller area, so consider a separate fixed overview camera where uninterrupted coverage is important.
Confirm the NVR supports PTZ control and the selected recording format. Allow for the camera’s maximum power demand and cable run, especially when infrared illumination is active. Use a suitable mounting bracket and protect all external connections.
Commissioning the Two Views
Allow recording bandwidth for both streams. Test the panoramic view, PTZ limits, detection zones and target handover before leaving tracking enabled. Confirm NVR support for both video channels and all required intelligent functions.
