Ideal UPS Backup Power for CCTV NVR Security Systems

A reliable UPS is an important addition to any CCTV surveillance installation.

Without battery backup, a power failure can immediately shut down the NVR recorder and connected security cameras, potentially resulting in lost recording time.

The Hikvision DS-UPS2000-R-AU helps maintain power to connected surveillance equipment, providing additional protection against unexpected outages.

Suitable applications include:

• Hikvision and HiLook PoE NVR security systems

• Swann, IVSEC and other compatible CCTV recorders

• Network video recorders with internal hard drives

• PoE network switches and IP security cameras

• Internet routers, modems and networking equipment

• Desktop computers and office electronics

• Small business and home security installations

Important: For PoE CCTV systems, the NVR and any separate PoE switches must receive battery-backed power to maintain camera operation during a power outage. Backup duration depends on the combined electrical load.

Estimated UPS Battery Backup Runtime

The DS-UPS2000-R-AU provides temporary battery power to connected equipment during an electrical outage.

Indicative backup times are:

These figures are indicative only. Actual runtime depends on battery condition, temperature, connected equipment and operating conditions. Runtime is not guaranteed.

For CCTV installations, calculate the combined power consumption of the NVR, installed hard drives, PoE cameras and other connected equipment when estimating battery backup duration.
